National Sojourners 2017 Essay Contest

Eligibility Requirements:
Students currently in the 9th to 12th grade.
To Apply:
Visit the National Sojourners website and complete the online application. Submit an essay answering the question:
“What do you think George Washington would say about the role of patriotism today,
and how would you go about helping others to understand what it means to be an
American?”
Submit your essays to your local National Sojourners Chapter using the “Authorized Cover Sheet,”. Essay must be typed, 300 – 500 words long, & include word count. You must also cite and footnote facts/quotations and include a bibliography.

Dell Scholar

Eligibility Requirements:
Graduating from an accredited high school this academic year, earning a minimum of a 2.4 GPA. Demonstrate need for financial assistance by showing eligibility to receive a federal Pell grant in your first year of college. You must be planning to enroll full-time in a bachelor’s degree program at an accredited higher education institution in the fall directly after your graduation from high school.
